In a genre full of tall tales and marketable lies, Chris Acker crafts candid songs – weaving his wit and woes into a body of work that exposes the stale plight of the American Songster to the honest, and sometimes hilarious, light of day.

Having spent her life in Appalachia, Alexa Rose writes songs inspired by the rolling landscapes of the Blue Ridge and the resilience of the natural world. Rolling Stone says “she writes and sings with the conviction of someone who’s spent night after night on the front porch, the Alleghany Mountains in the foreground, spinning details of the day’s hardships into music.”

Josh Oliver is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter from east Tennessee. He has spent the past decade touring with Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange), and has recorded with Rachel Baiman, Andrew Marlin, Tyler Childers, among others.

Both influenced by life in the Appalachian mountains and the intersections of traditional and modern folk music, Josh and Alexa craft a musical experience centered around haunting harmonies, spellbinding melodies and storytelling lyrics.

John Lowell has been performing in the Mountain West for more than 40 years and  was honored with the 2024 Montana Governor's Award - the highest honor the state bestows on artists working in the literary, visual or performing arts. John is a triple threat - songwriter, singer and guitarist, and his smooth voice is featured on many recordings.. He's toured the world with his bands Kane's River, Growling Old Men, and the John Lowell Band, performing at Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Vancouver Folk Festival, WIntergrass, Winfield and Prairie Home Companion among hundreds more. 

John and Joanne’s new release On My Way Home features original songs written or co-written by John with Joanne, Rick Lang, Anne Sibley and Sarah Pierce. It also features songs by Dean Johnson, Ben Bullington and Alton Delmore. The duo will be touring to support the new project starting in spring of 2026. 

John’s last recording Snow On The Wineglass debuted at #2 on the Western album charts and was named Album of the Year by the International Western Music Association (IWMA) in November of 2024. Lowell was also named Songwriter of the Year. He’s recently been nominated for four awards and won Western Single of the year by the Academy of Western Music. John’s prior recording She'sLeaving Cheyenne was nominated for four awards in 2022, and his song Angus MacKenzie won Working Cowboy Song of the Year. Wyoming Public Radio named She's Leaving Cheyenne Album of the Year in 2021 and that year also brought Lowell the Grand Prize in the Hazel Dickens Songwriting Contest. Two years later, it is still in the top 20 of most played Western songs on the chart.

David was born in Austin, Texas.Moved to Nashville after college and was a staff songwriter for many years.David played in various bands while living in Nashville.He plays guitar,bass,fiddle,banjo and mandolin.David recently moved to Columbia Falls,Montana and lives on the Flathead river right outside Glacier National Park.

A graduate of Oberlin College & Conservatory, Lena designed her own major, pulling from elements of music composition, poetry, and performance. Christy cut her teeth as a professional Americana folk, alt-country, psychedelic rock and roll, singer songwriter in Austin, Texas and toured nationally for a dozen years before heading north. She settled in Butte, Montana where she runs a nonprofit called Working Quiet and a writers in residence program called Dear Butte, while continuing to create music and perform her limited live events. She recently accepted a position as the Program Manager at KBFM, Butte’s quirky, low-powered, non-commercial, community radio station.

Anna Tivel is an Oregon based songwriter who grounds her work in the quiet stories of everyday life. She’s a keen and detailed observer, and the characters that move through her lyrics come alive in small moments of beauty and struggle. With seven full length albums out on Portland’s beloved Fluff & Gravy Records, Anna has been likened to a short story writer and praised by Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone, Billboard and others for her vivid and attentive songs.
